Dental Surgery

Okay, so....there is just so much to say about this day. When all the anesthesia wore off, this is what he finally looked like. But I can't even begin to tell you what it was like 4 hours before this. It just broke my heart. But a few years ago Joshua ran into his bunk bed ladder and it made his front tooth dead. He was scheduled to get several crowns on his back teeth (top and bottom, thanks to Paul's families genetics we think) and they noticed his tooth had an abscess. So they had to pull it. For all of these procedures, they had to put him under because there is no way he'd sit through even an xray (little fighter!) and the affects of it were terrible! He cried after waking up (hysterically) for 45 minutes, not able to talk clearly and confused. He slept a little in between and cried non-stop for another 30. He finally fell asleep with a fever for 3 hours. When he woke up again, he was much better and could speak more clearly. For now, he kind of sounds like a little old man without teeth. It's cute. He got a special surprise from us (I'll blog it tomorrow) and the tooth fairy was VERY generous! (For what she normally leaves.) So glad it's done and he is okay! It just pulls at mama's heart strings so much! Sigh.
